Chipotle, shi-potle... If you like generic, chain store, mexican food, then this is definitely not the place for you. On the other hand, if you want a taste of authentic Mexican food, then take the time to seek this place out. Everything, I mean everything, is made to order and delicious. The different salsas are awesome and have a kick (so be careful). The understated restaurant is in the back of the store on the corner of Broadway St. & 4th. Insanely good food. *** Went back for lunch today, 10/27/14.. Still awesome!

the food that I got was Flat out authentic and delicious. had 4 tacos and 2 sopes. It was all homemade and I am already planning my next trip back so I can try what else is on the menu. It looks like a little corner store at 1st but the restaurant is in the back.

Okay, so first this is no longer a Brazilian restaurant. For two weeks now, it has been a Mexican restaurant. The original game plan was Farlos (closed on Sunday) then Athena's (closed on Sunday). I was Yelping in a panic for reinforcements when I looked over my shoulder. This was across the street and it was open -Yay, bonus points! When you first enter it is camoflagued as a "tienda" (neighborhood grocery store), hidden at the back is a restaurant. It is very laid back. We passed by a fridge with big bowls of homemade flan. Mexican soccer on the tv. A couple of families having lunch. Our waitress was super nice and had some good recommendations. They have everything from Horchatas to daily agua frescas (watermelon today). I had my favorite, real live Mexican Fresca (Toronja). The Carne Asada and Pastor tacos were very good, but my wife's burrito was even better (beat the pants off Chipolte). Our waitress also recommended some of their soups (beef or shrimp). Our bill including a bag of Semaforos (lollipops) for my kids was only $14. The place is so new they haven't had a chance to have a line for adding a tip to the bill. So tip in cash if you can. We ended up tipping with 2 $5 Starbucks gift cards ( gee - I hope she likes Starbucks). Really cool, authentic place with very good food and great prices.

Excellent food. Had the Cubano Torte so good, just bring an extra person as the portions are generous. Mom experienced the sopa, and well it was a full meal for her.

Wow! We are vacationing in Myrtle Beach and were craving Mexican. I did a quick Yelp search and decided to come to this place because it had the best reviews. We arrived and were a little uncertain due to the area and lack of restaurants. We walked in and were the only people in there, again a little unsettling. BUT, the staff were very friendly. I explained we found the restaurant on Yelp and we hoping for good Mexican good. One of the staff made sure we knew it was authentic Mexican. And it sure was! It is a very plain place with a grocery area in the front with imported items and a few tables in the back. The menu is simple and mostly in Spanish so we needed some help understanding it all. We asked what they would suggest. We needed up ordering enchiladas with rice and beans. The food was incredible. Honest! I had the red sauce and my husband had the green sauce. Very different flavours. His was more spicy and tangy. Mine more traditional and earthy. Both delicious! We ordered a chicken quesadilla for our children, but they weren't convinced it was for them. The quesadilla was quite delicious also. The place was very clean and quite quaint. We were very impressed. If you are looking for great value and incredible Mexican food you should eat here.

After many sub par "Mexican" food experiences my friends and I went off the beaten path and were rewarded with this hidden gem. When we pulled up we were worried we had went to the wrong location. It looks very much like a small convenience store or bodega. We went in and saw the dinning is located in the back. A simple menu with carnitas, tacos doratios and other authentic dishes is small but worth exploring. I had carne asada and carnita tacos ($2 each) that were deliciously simple and perfectly prepared (meat, cilantro, onions). Try the sauces, both spicy and flavorful, and treat yourself to a tasty horchata (sweet and creamy rice water) it will cool your mouth when you get a bit too feisty with the hot sauce. Try it all!

Great find off the beaten path! We were coming through Myrtle Beach to visit the longboard skate shop on Broadway. It was closed when we got there and it was lunch time so we went across the street to El Aztecs. What we found at the back of the store was actually a Brazilian restaurant. The owner came to us to explain that it was family style and that they had no menus. He offered to bring us a sampler plate for free and, if we liked it, he'd bring us more if we decided to stay. The sampler plate was almost enough for both of us. Huge chunks of meat, I think it was braised and so tender it just fell apart, served in a very light gravy. This wasn't stew, not that much gravy. Served with it was a "hash" of ground beef and chopped green beans that had a wonderful spice to it (not hot spicy, just tasty) that I couldn't identify. Also with it was an herbed or spiced white rice, not the red Mexican rice you'd see in most restaurants. Once he'd ascertained that we did, in fact, like what he'd brought us, he brought us two more plates of the exact same size. It was a huge amount of food, I was full from just the sample plate but I tried to eat a polite amount of the 2nd serving before asking for a box to take the leftovers (which served two more lunch meals for me). The cook, who seemed to be the son of the owner, came out to see how pleased we were with the food. He seemed genuinely pleased that these two gringos that walked in off the street were so happy with the food. He was so happy about it, he gave us two Brazilian sodas to take with us for free (which were also great, although my boyfriend thought it was a little too sweet). I grew up in San Antonio so I was used to the too-sweet soda since so many other Hispanic sodas are like that.
